BreakPoint ("the app") is a tennis analysis app for iPhone, developed by David Tseng / Blue Hat Studio. This policy describes what the app does — and deliberately does not do — with your data. It is written to be read, and it reflects how the app is actually built.
The short version
Your video and your tennis data never leave your iPhone. All video recording, ball tracking, line calling, swing detection, and statistics are computed entirely on your device. BreakPoint has no user accounts, no cloud storage of your content, no ads, and no tracking. The only telemetry it sends is a small set of anonymized usage signals about the subscription screens, described below — never your video or tennis data.
What stays on your device
- Video. Sessions you record or import are stored only in the app's local storage on your iPhone. They are never uploaded. Deleting a session (or the app) deletes them.
- Analysis results. Line calls, swing classifications, statistics, and all derived data are computed on-device and stored on-device.
- Diagnostics. The app uses Apple's MetricKit for on-device performance diagnostics. These reports stay local.
What the app accesses, and why
- Camera — to record your session so the app can analyze it. Video is processed and stored on-device only.
- Photo library (import) — when you choose to import an existing video, the system photo picker hands the app only the video you select. The app cannot browse your library.
- Photo library (save) — only when you choose to export a highlight or clip, the app asks for permission to save it to your Photos.
- Apple Health (optional, off by default) — if you enable "Save workouts to Health," the app writes your sessions to Apple Health as tennis workouts. The app reads nothing from Health.
- Microphone — the app does not record audio and does not request microphone access.
Subscriptions
BreakPoint offers optional paid subscriptions (BreakPoint Pro).
- Payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. The app never sees or stores your payment details.
- Subscription status is verified via RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated identifier and your purchase history for this app — enough to confirm that a subscription is active. This data is not linked to your identity (there are no accounts) and is not used for tracking. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.
Together with the usage signals described in the next section, this is the only data that leaves your device — and none of it is your video or tennis data.
